Description
Artists Residency Anchor (ARRA) is a residency project based at Kotva Space Bratislava, a brutalist space designed by Alan Prekop that was nominated for an architecture award. Blending brutalism with Japanese essentialism, it became a creative hub for artists in the heart of Slovakia's capital. As one of the two initiators, I helped establish the project and build a platform with international outreach.
The residency provides both a shelter and an atelier for artists, responding to the challenging conditions of Slovak culture. Inspired by my time in the brutalist environment of São Paulo, Brazil, I see the raw concrete space as an invitation to an internal dialogue between the artist and the architecture.
ARRA launched in September 2025 with an interdisciplinary happening bringing together artists from architecture, design, fashion, and music.
My role included leading the residency, developing its social media and PR strategy, and producing the launch event.
